A summary of the Project:
The colour project is a collaboration between Nottingham Trent university and Emmanuel house - a charity dedicated to the homeless. For the project I have been given a brief to use recycled materials in order to create a practical outerwear garment that rough sleepers can use as well as promote sustainable fashion. For my personal investigation I chose to focus on three key themes-Be warm, Be functional and Be detachable.
Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic we were unable to physically make our final garments for this collection. however, I was planning on using a recycled tent to create my garment which would have been an oversized, zip up, hooded jacket with a detachable sleeping bag which can also be used as a bag to carry around belongings once unzipped.
